Ghost & The Bones

We're baaaaaaack!
We so are. Hiatus over, back to business, although we never really stopped. The search is on for a studio to record our next recording, we're looking to do an album of between 8 and 10 tracks, and judging by the two jams we've had so far finding material is not going to be an issue. As always we consider our audience first, we're working to create a great live experience, and do something which is fun for us too and also stretches our abilities as musicians. The vibe is good here at The ReadyMades, I'm currently listening to the demo of last night's jam, and one song in particular "The Ghost & The Bones" is resonating with the band as new favorite, it's a little Mighty Boosh right now and I'm looking forward to hearing where it goes. Kind of apt being halloween and all.
We're also fans of The Goodies, that's a hint, that's all I'm saying there.
We're assisted at this time by our dear friend Claye Hutchins (The Gels, The Bastard Sons Of Ruination) who is again providing us with some drum beats and enabling us to bounce some ideas around for which we're super grateful.
The search too is on for Australia's more obscure music festivals, promoters please note, have band will travel, and New Zealand don't think you won't be hearing from us. Yep.
Well, um pardon me but we've got some songs to write.

Rockchick Waits

Holas, The ReadyMades are currently taking a brief hiatus while Sam has a baby and Jo deals with some personal stuff. Oddly time off being The ReadyMades has done little to slow us down, hopefully if you're reading this you got here from a link on one of the pages which have just been done up. Aside from our families we all have other projects on the boil.  Jo also plays in Catch The Sun and they have just posted a couple of songs on their myspace page, Sam has been jamming with and is part of the new line up for Roadside Slasher and Kate has been exhibiting her artwork, we love her characters and you can find examples here. Rockchick waits, not for too long though, we'll be back in business in November.

What's going on?

"bout time! High time we got this bloggamy schmoggamy thing happening. To fill you in lots of things have happened to us in the past, so many in fact that I'm starting to forget them, you argue that they weren't truly memorable then but if you knew how we rolled... well then you probably understand!
Let's start with this year though which as a band has undoubtably been our best. We've played live to air twice, having visited Three D Radio's Sound Lounge and we displayed much versatility when we did a stripped back set for Radio Adelaide as part of their Live Music Fest, which we haven't heard yet but we promise to post it if it's OK. We released our highly unanticipated EP: Hook, Sinker and Line availble online everywhere including iTunes, yeah damn right i-mutha effin'-chunes! Oh, and we got featured on MusicSA's page, May was ReadyMade month. Plus we've enjoyed great gigs with audiences finding themselves pleasantly suprised and quite willing to kindly shell out $5 of their hard earned for one of lovely CDs, bargain. $5 is cheaper than beer, and our EP is unlikely to give you a hangover.
Notable highlight stand out gigs for mine were the launch at The Crown & Anchor in May and that gig at The Grace Emily where the other band were complete twats, we stole the show and possibly their rider.
Now there's been a lot of talk about Jo moving to Mt. Gambier and this is true, however this is NOT the end of the band. We gearing up to write a new set, record it and hopefully get it out later next year. But you know time, money, life type things will certainly push that back a bit, no doubt.
Still stay tuned, you are listening to The ReadyMades.
